After completing a 4-year Master’s Degree from the European School of Osteopathy I am really proud to be embarking on a new career.
I had a 12-year previous career as a PE teacher and lecturer, after gaining a PE & Sports Science degree from Loughborough University. At university I played football and volleyball, having previously represented my county and East England at junior levels.
I am a Level 1 Strength & Conditioning coach, with a number of other sports coaching qualifications gained along the way.
I’m a quietly confident, regular kind of guy, I guess. I enjoy most sports, golf (5 handicap) and skiing (bottle handicap) in particular, and try to stay active as much as possible. I follow Liverpool FC, and enjoy a good live gig and the odd little glass of red.
As a keen sportsman of..(too many) years, I obviously have a close affinity to those crazy people. My dissertation research studied golfing injuries and low back pain specifically and feel my specialism will evolve in this area. However, I have so far enjoyed the mixture of being able to treat children right through to the elderly, and I hope to continue to do so as each patient brings their own individual story with them.
Better mobility, better function, better understanding and better health. I feel it’s important to educate patients about their problem. Understanding why you’re in pain has a hugely positive effect and without doubt makes recovery and returning to an active and mobile life so much faster.
