Massage is...

  • A great non-invasive method of reducing muscular tension.
  • A good way to assist the body to relax.
  • At Bridgeham it can help with osteopathic treatments that may be more difficult to perform if soft tissue structures are tight.
  • Assists in the drainage of excess fluid around joints that may have been damaged increasing the joints pain free range of movement, thus encouraging better articulation of the joint.
  • A way of reducing stress levels for some! According to The Franklin Institute on the human brain and stress, “Massage releases endorphins that calm the peripheral nervous system.”
  • Beneficial after an event like a marathon or after hard training whether for fun or if it is your chosen professional sports career.
  • A great way to say thank you to your ‘self’, to your body for all the work it does to continually carry and move you from A to B! Massage is so good for the soul!

Massage at Bridgeham

We're delighted to offer a variety different types of massage at the clinic to support your Broken to Brilliant® journey!

Deep Tissue Massage

Sports massage - can be a fairly firm massage, not intended to cause any pain. It increases blood supply to the muscles and promotes drainage from the muscles. It can be stimulating to enhance performance before an event and drain lactic acid after an event. It helps injury recovery and softens the tension in the body to improve its function. Read more about the benefits of sports massage here.

Massage with an osteopath - the osteopath will assess you and decide the best areas to work with according to your history. This massage is super specific and not necessarily the typical “relaxation massage” one may expect from a sports or therapeutic relaxation massage.

Therapeutic & Relaxation Massage

Allow your body the space, the time and the touch, relaxing music and diffusers set the scene. Feel your muscles transform from cold stone concrete to vital healthy tissue.

Relax. Let go. Let yourself be. It's your time.

Meridian massage - this is ideal if you are keen to try to acupuncture but unsure of needles. Learn more here.

Aroma massage - can be part of the healing process as a way of applying the oils into the skin to penetrate the body, causing relaxation and calmness. It can also increase circulation, help lymphatic flow and aid the release of trapped toxins.

Reflexology - read more about this ancient practice here.

Can I just say what safe hands I feel I am in under your instruction. You are the first person to completely get where I am at and where I want to be. Really enjoying working with you Jo.

Mrs. G

Very professional, prompt efficient service in an excellent well-equipped setting.  My back is better than it’s been in years

Mr. M

I really benefit from the Pilates classes provided plus to 2:1 and circuit sessions. They provide an excellent way of keeping and improving my mobility. Additionally helping me to know how to help myself with the niggles that come along from time to time. The smaller class size means that one gets the correct level of guidance and help. The trainer’s awareness of an individual’s strengths and limitations ensures that the exercises are suitable. The training is delivered in a friendly and cheerful way which makes it not only beneficial but an enjoyable experience that is sometimes challenging “which is great” and I look forward to the next class. The rest of the services delivered by the clinic are excellent and delivered by a skilled staff team including the reception ladies. I would recommend Bridgeham Clinic to everybody for the service, help and advice they provide.

Mr. M

Wonderful to feel painless movement again.

Ms. S

My shoulder injury was completely cured.  This was after the NHS Physio failed completely.  My present treatment is ongoing.

Mr. G

"Went for the first time after a recommendation. The receptionist may be the loveliest person I've encountered this month! So welcoming and made me the best cup of tea ever. The facilities are nice and clean with ample parking. My appointment was with Clemence (osteo) and she managed to loosen up my lower back that has been tight and painful (at times seizing up). She was super knowledgeable and warm and friendly.”
