Massage is...

  • A great non-invasive method of reducing muscular tension.
  • A good way to assist the body to relax.
  • At Bridgeham it can help with osteopathic treatments that may be more difficult to perform if soft tissue structures are tight.
  • Assists in the drainage of excess fluid around joints that may have been damaged increasing the joints pain free range of movement, thus encouraging better articulation of the joint.
  • A way of reducing stress levels for some! According to The Franklin Institute on the human brain and stress, “Massage releases endorphins that calm the peripheral nervous system.”
  • Beneficial after an event like a marathon or after hard training whether for fun or if it is your chosen professional sports career.
  • A great way to say thank you to your ‘self’, to your body for all the work it does to continually carry and move you from A to B! Massage is so good for the soul!

Massage at Bridgeham

We're delighted to offer a variety different types of massage at the clinic to support your Broken to Brilliant® journey!

Deep Tissue Massage

Sports massage - can be a fairly firm massage, not intended to cause any pain. It increases blood supply to the muscles and promotes drainage from the muscles. It can be stimulating to enhance performance before an event and drain lactic acid after an event. It helps injury recovery and softens the tension in the body to improve its function. Read more about the benefits of sports massage here.

Massage with an osteopath - the osteopath will assess you and decide the best areas to work with according to your history. This massage is super specific and not necessarily the typical “relaxation massage” one may expect from a sports or therapeutic relaxation massage.

"I can't put into words how happy I am with the acupuncture treatment I received from Rachel at Bridgeham Clinic. I've been under a specialist for around 5 years, I've had a number of cortisone injections to help with the pain. Thanks to Rachel I'm pain free after just 2 treatments. No more pain killers or waking during the early hours trying to find a comfortable sleeping position. Thanks to Rachel and all of the team at Bridgeham, I felt so welcome and comfortable despite Covid restrictions."

Teresa

"I can’t recommend The Bridgeham Clinic enough. You are made to feel so welcome as soon as you walk through the door. After suffering from migraines and neck pain for many years. I have now been pain free since December thanks to Dan (osteopath) and Selena (acupuncture) for working their magic.”

Debbie

"I really enjoyed my first Zoom Pilates session! I’ll definitely be continuing through lockdown! I didn’t think I’d like it, but it really is no different to being in the studio. Still got an opportunity to speak to the others in class and Gordon engaged with everyone as the class went on. Great experience and will certainly recommend!”

Jayne

"Osteopath Michael was amazing today! He's the nicest guy & can highly recommend him! I was so nervous, and he was totally calm and relaxed and talked me through everything, he was so thorough & ended up re-aligning my whole body! Fantastic!"

Stevie

"Went for my first appointment since lockdown and felt really safe with all Bridgeham’s brilliant precautionary measures"

Caroline

"Went for the first time after a recommendation. The receptionist may be the loveliest person I've encountered this month! So welcoming and made me the best cup of tea ever. The facilities are nice and clean with ample parking. My appointment was with Clemence (osteo) and she managed to loosen up my lower back that has been tight and painful (at times seizing up). She was super knowledgeable and warm and friendly.”
