The 1st October marks the United Nations International Day of Older Persons and the promotion the Decade of Healthy Ageing (2020-2030)which is something we feel passionately about here at Bridgeham! Using Bridgeham's tried and tested impactful protocols our Broken to Brilliant pathway creates a treatment plan for anybody of any age with a successful outcome for each patient.

Janine our wonderful Foot Health practitioner has written this short poem about why she loves treating her older patients!

I can’t reach my feet. It’s a statement I often hear.

I didn’t put my hearing aids in, so can you repeat that, dear?

Diabetes, COPD, heart disease and loneliness I see.

But a sense of humour and love of family is important, wouldn’t you agree?

‘Old people’ are part of my job – the biggest part I would say.

The crying, sad stories and loss of family can’t keep me away.

But what is ‘old’ anyway, is it a measure of calendar pages turned?

Or is it a life lived, friends loved and so many lessons learned?

I am no poet, but I do my job for the love of good care and ease of daily strife.

But someone told me once, that if you love your job, you never work a day in your life.

We’re very sorry to announce that after 6 years, Steve Young has left the Bridgeham team. We will miss his incredible skills that supported so many patients on their Broken to Brilliant journey, not to mention all the cups of tea, banter and fun he brought into the building too!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his dedication to his patients over the years and wish him well for the future.

Covid-19 Updates

NHS Test & Trace App

As you may have seen in the news recently, the NHS Test& Trace App has now been launched.

We are now displaying our unique QR code in reception for patients who wish to take part in the scheme and check themselves in.

Please rest assured that we are also keeping comprehensive records of everyone who visits the clinic on a daily basis.

You can download the app from either the Apple Store or Google Play.

Pilates Mat Classes at Bridgeham

Formal written guidance has now been issued by the UK Government regarding “indoor organised exercise classes”, which clarifies that we can continue with classes as we are COVID secure. The studio is marked out with 2m spacing to allow 10 people to attend class (photo in image), and we have procedures in place to get people in and out of the clinic safely.

If you would like to make any changes to which class/es you attend we can offer the following:

✅ continue with LIVE classes (we can advise you which classes have the least numbers)

✅ continue with ZOOM classes

✅ transfer from a LIVE class to a ZOOM class

We are doing everything we can to keep classes running in this uncertain time. We’d like to thank everyone attending classes in person at the clinic for being so vigilant and honouring our Covid-19 procedures, we really appreciate your loyalty and support.
