If you've been putting up with back pain don't suffer in silence!

Back pain has existed since the beginning of time. Almost all of us go through it at some point in our lives. It can range from a mild annoyance to a debilitating condition. This is why it’s extremely important to address how we can better manage this pain and discomfort to lead a better quality of life.

Bridgeham aims to provide practical as well as emotional support to people living with back pain whether it’s due to wear and tear, injury, musculoskeletal disorders such as scoliosis, spina bifida, and arthritis, or other serious underlying health conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease or cancer.

Our Broken to Brilliant® pathway uses a multi-disciplinary approach to back pain and uses the protocols of neutralise, stabilise, and mobilise. This allows us to plan a treatment pathway for a successful outcome for each patient.

If you would like to know more, you can book a FREE 15-minute assessment with one of our osteopaths.

classes on Wed at 9.15 am or 5.45 pm.  Here is what Ms. W said about her experience:

“I really enjoy my Buff bones Pilates class with Jo.  She is extremely caring and understands my osteoporosis problems as she does with other members of the class.  I like that she asks every member of the class every week how their problems have been.  I feel I am getting fitter and am aware of my problems now and know what I can and cannot do.  We do lots of strengthening exercises which I feel I’m benefiting from.  I would have no hesitation in recommending the class to anyone who has osteopenia or osteoporosis.”

Preparation time: Less than 30 mins
Cooking time: 30 mins to 1 hour
Serves 6–8

Dietary - Vegetarian You need to have this delightfully warming pumpkin soup in your little black book of dinners. Serve with a swirl of cream if you want to be naughty!

1 large onion, chopped

2 carrots, peeled and chopped

2 garlic cloves

1 bay leaf 25g/ 1oz unsalted butter

2 tbsp olive oil

1 medium pumpkin (prepared weight about 850g/1lb 14oz) deseeded and roughly chopped

1 medium-sized floury potato, such as Maris Piper, roughly chopped

1 litre/1¾ pint vegetable or chicken stock, a little extra may be needed

100ml/3½fl oz double cream

3 tbsp pumpkin seeds

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  1. Put the onion, carrots, garlic, bay leaf, butter and half the olive oil into a large pan. Cook over a low–medium heat for about 10 minutes until the vegetables are tender but not coloured.
  2. Add the squash and potato, mix to combine and cook for a further 2–3 minutes. Pour in the stock, season well and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer, half cover the pan with a lid and continue to cook for about 40 minutes until the squash is really tender when tested with the point of a knife.
  3. Pick out the bay leaf and blend the soup until smooth using a stick blender.
  4. Add the cream and a little more stock if the soup is on the thick side, taste for seasoning, adding more salt and pepper as required.
  5. Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and add the pumpkin seeds and fry quickly until the seeds start to pop. Remove from the pan.
  6. Ladle the soup into bowls and serve with a swirl of cream and the toasted pumpkin seeds.

Testimonial Prize Draw Winner!

Here is what Ms. F said about her Bridgeham experience:

“I saw Saif Abbasi for an emergency appointment and couldn’t have had a better result! For the first time in many years of seeing different practitioners, I was pain-free in my lower back - bliss! Saif used a combination of osteopathy and needling which was very successful. He is professional and knowledgeably answered my questions and went on to take the time to find and explain a visual presentation of the problem I have, that I’ve struggled to understand, in a way that finally made sense. Also, he works on a Saturday which is a huge plus when you have other commitments in the week.
I would definitely recommend Saif. “

If you haven't already given us a testimonial then why not write one on GoogleFacebook, or by email. You too could then be in with a chance to win a £50 treatment voucher!

See you in the clinic or online soon…you’ve got to be in it to win it!
