Certified Pilates Instructor
I started attending Pilates classes in 2002 on the recommendation of my osteopath, who was treating me for various back-related issues and latterly Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), which arose during a 16-year career in computer-related consultancy.
Having noticed considerable improvements throughout my body resulting from practicing Pilates, I decided to study the system in more depth resulting in a career change to enable me to help people in a similar situation to the one I used to be in.
During 2004, I studied at the New Pilates School for my Matwork qualification under Helge Fisher, one of the founder members of Body Control Pilates®. In late 2005, I commenced my Studio training with Polestar® Pilates UK, becoming fully qualified in December 2006.
I have a particular interest in working in a rehabilitation environment, and really enjoy the integrated approach that Bridgeham Clinic allowsme to work in. I am a Level 4 Instructor on The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS)holding qualifications in Pilates (Matwork & Pilates Machines), Yoga (RYT200 Restorative) and specialist Exercise for Management of Lower Back Pain.
I am committed to on-going professional development, with regular attendance of workshops/courses and have recently embarked on Cranio-Sacral Therapy training. |
